Beds
How early can you let a baby sleep on a bed? Like a mattress on the floor...... if you put a babygate by his doorway.......and babyproof the room.......and leave a monitor on..........
No, he's not climbing out of his crib just yet. But he sleeps SOOOO much better on a real mattress (as opposed to a crib mattress and hey, who can blame him?). Well, he has learned how to take some covers off the outlets so we have to get different outlet covers. And I will have to check his room out to see what else to totally remove. :) Although most likely if he did wake up in the middle of the night, he would just sit there and cry.
M - I don't know what is the WORST that can happen. Maybe something awful. Which is why I am trying to investigate it beforehand. You just don't normally hear about babies sleeping in real beds. V- I thought about a toddler bed but it's probably too high because he would probably climb over the railing. Are there "rules" about when you can put your child in a bed?
Our eldest garduated to a toddler bed at approx. a year and our second at around the same time, because she was eating the wood on her crib; no she doesn't know that story. Alot of kids sleep much better onbeds, give it a shot, you can always buy a longer railing.
Excellent. Veev, bring on the toddler bed. RHOG - what did you do about them when they woke up? Did you have a gate on the door or keep the door closed and just made sure the room was childproof? When did your kids start walking? Also, what size is that cutie outfit that Naf wore at our wedding. Do you still have it? Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I look forward to possibly sleepful nights.

Both boys went into a toddler bed at about 15 months. I don't know about any "rules". As far as too far from the floor, not our bed. It's very low.

Naomi started walking at like 9 months, and Gaily, I think at 11 months. Is this right?
